CHIEF SAYS ARSON THE

 

CAUSE OF HOUSE FIRE

Firefighters succeeded in keeping flames from spreading to adjacent homes on Norrish Ave

Flames can be seen in the background as firefighters don air tanks and safety gear and prepare to enter the home on Norrish Ave.

ust after 1 am Thursday the Chilliwack Fire Department was notified that a house in the 46000-block of Norrish Ave. was on fire with flames and smoke showing inside.

 

Firefighters had this blaze extinguished in a few minutes. A hydrant in the font of the house made it easier for crews.

 

The fire is assessed and the best way to attack it.

 

Reports at the time were that no one was home at the time.

5000-Block Prairie Central House Fire

"On April 30th 2019 at approximately 10 pm the Chilliwack Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire located in the 50000-block of Prairie Central Rd. On arrival fire crews reported seeing smoke and heavy flame from the exterior rear deck and roof structure of a two-storey residential home."

 

"Occupants were home at the time of the fire and quickly called 9-1-1 and safely evacuated the residence. There were no civilian and or firefighter injuries. The cause of the fire appears to be accidental at this time."
