allery 7 Theatre is thrilled to continue their 2018-2019 ‘Back to Classics’ Theatre Season with the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical sensation, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. This will be Gallery 7 Theatre’s 100th production in its history, a major milestone for the organization.

This favourite musical extravaganza follows the Biblical story of Joseph and his coat of many colors. After being sold in to slavery by his jealous brothers, Joseph gains favour with Potiphar, the Egyptian noble. Rejecting the amorous advances of Potiphar’s wife, Joseph winds up in jail where he discovers an ability to interpret dreams. His new-found talent catches the attention of the Elvis-inspired Pharaoh, and Joseph is promoted to right hand man.

But during a famine, his family needs his help and Joseph is forced to decide whether to forgive or take revenge. One of the most popular shows of all time, this fun-filled and irresistible musical by master composer, Andrew Lloyd Webber, promises to be an exciting theatre experience for the entire family!

“People of all ages will delight in this entertaining classic,” explains Gallery 7 Theatre’s Executive/Artistic Director, Ken Hildebrandt. “Joseph also marks our 100th production in our 28-year history as a theatre, and what a perfect show to celebrate this incredible milestone. Our team is pulling out the stops to bring Fraser Valley audiences a theatre experience they won’t soon forget.”

International director and producer, Tony James, is directing the cast of nearly 30 performers, many of whom will be performing multiple roles in the show. He is supported by a talented design team hailing from across the Lower Mainland.

Set design is by Matthew Piton, costume design is by Jina Chatterton, lighting design is by Tony James, make-up design is by Amelia Trottier and props design & production photography is by Dianna Lewis. Choreography is by Jennifer Romano, the musical director is Dave Rosborough and the stage manager is Nelly Fargeon.

Gallery 7 Theatre’s production will feature new and veteran Fraser Valley performers: Reuben Leonard will play the title role of Joseph while Karina Falk will perform the role of the Narrator. Michael Holman, who last appeared in Gallery 7 Theatre’s production of The Miracle Worker, will play Potiphar, while Dianna Fast will play Potiphar’s wife. Keegan Zaporozan will play the highly entertaining Elvis-impersonating Pharaoh.

Rounding out the cast is Alexa Davis, Will Davis, Leina DeBoer, Danica Domay, Angel Duran-Heon, Ethan Falk, Rachel Fischer, Teagan Gibson, Sophie Heinrichs, Todd Klassen, Sophie Koloska, Rebecca Laurenti, Morgan Loewen, Miles Merry, Brady Moore, Dalton Nelson, Deanne Ratzlaff, Elizabeth Seaman, Karen Street and Nikola Trotzuk.
