allery 7 Theatre is pleased to be holding open auditions for its first production of their all-new, 2019-2020 ‘Ordinary Heroes’ theatre season, A Wrinkle in Time. Adapted by John Glore from the popular and controversial novel by Madeleine L’Engle, the auditions will be held on June 25, 2019, at the theatre’s rehearsal hall, #100 – 34595 3rd Ave, Abbotsford.

‘We’re very excited to have A Wrinkle in Time as our opening production of the new season,” says Ken Hildebrandt, executive/artistic director of Gallery 7 Theatre. “We’ll be integrating cool theatrical techniques such puppetry and projections to create a magical, dramatic and experience for audiences.”

The auditions are open to all performers ages 14 & up, with the exception of the role of Charles Wallace, which is open to performers ages 12 & up. Those with movement, dance, and/or martial arts experience, and anyone interested in assisting behind the scenes as assistant stage managers, running crew or as a sound or lighting operators, are also encouraged to attend the audition.

On a dark and stormy night, Meg Murry and her family are informed by the eccentric Mrs. Whatsit that there is such a thing as a tesseract. Convinced that this powerful portal through time and space will lead her to her long-lost father, Meg joins forces with Mrs. Whatsit, her little brother Charles Wallace and her friend Calvin O’Keefe, and embark on a dangerous journey to rescue her father and save the universe from evil. Along the way, she discovers the true value of friendship and family, and that love triumphs overall.

A Wrinkle in Time will be directed by Trinity Western University’s theatre department chair and MFA graduate from University of North Carolina - Greensboro, Kate Muchmore Woo. Woo has directed numerous productions for Gallery 7 Theatre, including Enchanted April, The Mousetrap and this past spring’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

A Wrinkle in Time will run November 8-9 and 12-16, 2019 at 7:30 PM with matinees on Nov. 9 and 16 at 2 PM at the Abbotsford Arts Centre, 2329 Crescent Way, Abbotsford. Rehearsals will commence September 5th.
